“IF THE BEE DISAPPEARED OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH, MAN WOULD ONLY HAVE FOUR YEARS LEFT TO LIVE.”
Last year I went into 4 local shops to by some Azorean Honey and not one shop had any left. When I asked why, i was told there just isn’t any honey left! I found this really strange, so I started talking to local beekeepers and they all said the same thing. “There’s no flowers” “All the cow farmers have cut down the trees and all the hedgerows and all the flowers.”
Here on Santa Maria, every day you see fires where some farmer or another is burning trees and bush. This is devastating to our environment!. This is killing our wildlife and our pollinators.
I spoke with one farmer and he said “Why do I need bees? Cows don’t eat them!”
I can’t stand by and let this happen, someone has to do something! So We, Breathe Azores are trying to help.
EVERYONE CAN HELP. IT JUST TAKES A LITTLE BIT OF TIME AND MONEY.
We are NOT asking for money, we are just asking please buy some of our Bee Friendly seeds and sow them anywhere you can. You can sow them in your garden, a window box just anywhere. Without pollinators, we will not have any crops!
The Bee Seeds Co Bee Friendly Seeds mix is an incredibly well balanced mixture of eight amazingly attractive bee friendly flowers. Not only do the bee seeds produce a stunning array of colours that are attractive to the human eye, they produce an abundance of flowers that bees find utterly irresistible.
You will find that after planting these seeds, the whole area will become a hive of activity full of happy bees. For all the beekeepers out there, you know that happy bees are productive bees and you may even see an increase in your honey production. Some of these seeds are Hardy annuals and can flower right through until early November.
